Tipping It Forward for Community Wellness

Did you know your tips do good for others?

Your tips are kept safe and separate so that organizations and individuals who might otherwise not have the funds to pay can still have a wellness experience. Recently, your tips have funded two endeavors through the Lifelong Learning Institute at UW-GB (LLI).

First, I offered a class called Self-care Tips Anyone Can Use. This two-hour course had over 50 attendees who learned about the importance of self-care for their minds, bodies, and spirits. For example, I shared that living and knowing your path and purpose, your self-worth and self-love are supported by PRACTICES that cause you to pause, contemplate, or enter a state of meditation. You can get a glimpse into the whole program here; it’s full of useful links! The presentation was very well-received. A few people even bought my book Me Time: Self-care in a Challenging World. I hope to offer it again next year for a third year in a row.

The second class benefitting from your generosity is a Gong Demonstration and Sound Bath, also through LLI. Again, this is a class I am offering for a second year. Over 50 participants learn about my inspiration for playing the gongs, the benefits of therapeutic sound – such as gongs – and experience them for themselves.

Sound Bath with Gongs – 11/7, Saturday, 6 – 7:30 PM ($20) @ Celestial Sound

Come stressed. Leaved refreshed. We will gently enter the meditative state through the breath followed by soothing gongs.

Sound Embrace – 11/18, Wednesday, 10 – 11:30 AM (FREE) @ Celestial Sound

Anyone affected by cancer, their friends and family are invited to be in a circle of support as we add self-care tools to use at home AND experience an extended sound bath with the gongs.

Half-Price Gong Meditation – 11/20, Friday, 4 – 5:30 PM, ($10) @ Celestial Sound

Come stressed, leaved refreshed – for half the cost! We will gently enter the meditative state through the breath followed by soothing gongs.
